We start from a scrap floor – what a recycler would pay for the metal and catalytic converter. From your car’s typical curb weight (about 70% of it is recoverable steel) we apply the current regional scrap price and add the catalytic converter. Then we add a parts, resale, and local-demand premium: a car that runs and has a clean title is worth far more whole or for parts than its bare metal, so the range climbs accordingly.
